Jim Myers
AKA George "The Animal" Steel
William (Jim) Myers was born in 1937. William (Jim) Myers was brought up in
Madison Heights, Michigan.
Jim (called Moose in H.S.) is one of a handful of high school students
across the United States to ever earn sixteen varsity letters:four each in
football, baseball, basketball and track. Jim had the choice in 1956 of
signing a baseball contract or going to Michigan State University on a
football scholarship. Jim chose football and his knees took a real beating
at M.S.U.
Jim entered Michigan State while married to his wife, Patricia Ann. He graduated
in 1961 with two children, Felicia and Randy. Their third, Dennis, was born
shortly after. Jim graduated from Michigan State University in 1961 with a
Bachelor of Science degree. He received his Masters Degree from Central
Michigan in 1973.
Patricia graduated from Oakland University in 1975 and taught in the Madison
School District for ten years.

School in Madison Heights, Michigan, for twenty-five years(1961-1986). Jim
coached football for twenty-five years, the last twelve years as the head
coach. The football program was in a down swing when he became head coach.
He was really happy with the story book finish of Madison being rated number
one in the state of Michigan 1985 football season.
Jim started Madisonıs wrestling program in 1966 and Madison won the Michigan
State wrestling championship in 1969. Over the sixteen years that Jim
coached wrestling Madison compiled 188 wins, 41 losses and two ties. The
wrestlers won nine Conference championships, five District championships,
and placed in the top five or better in state competition seven times.
Jim is very proud that he had the opportunity to coach both his sons Randy
and Dennis. He wishes that he could have coached his daughter,Felicia, also.
Patricia and Jim are most proud of the fact that all three of their children
have their college degrees.
It can blow you mind when you think of a super wrestling star with Jim's
ring persona teaching and coaching. It really goes to another level when you
realize that Jim is in both the Michigan Coaches and The WWE "Hall of Fame".
Jim has had his Screen Actors Guild card over thirty five years. He has
been in many commercials and movies with a starring role in the movie "Ed
Wood" which won two Academy Awards.
Jim even had success pinning Crohn's disease. Doctors say there is no known
cure for Crohn's but God knows better.
Now that Jim has his health and life back things just keep getting better.
How can you beat life on the beach with a wife of forty eight years
and a successful home base business? He is involved in many charities. He
also does personal appearances.
Jim belongs to a very active Rotary Club and serves as Sergeant-at-Arms.
Jim also serves on three boards that he is passionate about. The PWHF, the ARC
and the MSU Space Coast Alumni Club.
Jim is most excited about the fact that he has accepted Jesus Christ as his
Lord and Savior.
Wrestling has helped make a lot of good things happen in our lives.
(AKA)George "The Animal" Steele
Was one of wildest brawling wrestling heels that ever stepped into the ring.
He was on Main Events that sold out all of the major arenas of the Northeast
many times; the likes of New Yorkıs Madison Square Gardens, The Boston
Gardens, Philadelphia Spectrum, New Jersey Meadowlands, Pittsburgh Civic
Arena and many more. George then became a lovable cartoon character who
stretched his career over forty years. Most of George's wrestling career was
on a part-time basis.
